Zhang Haifa is a doctor of Marine Biology, as well as a professor level senior engineer in fishery (2^nd level). Also, as an expert that receives special allowances from the State Council, he has long been engaged in the research of marine organism breeding technology. He was the first one making breakthroughs in grouper breeding technology and succeeding in the hybrid breeding of groupers. Moreover, he developed southern sea water factorized circulation high efficiency breeding technology and has been devoted to the fishing resource proliferation research and release activity of South China Sea region for a long time, making a significant contribution to the development of China’s marine breeding industry, particularly grouper industry. He used to win 1 “First Prize in Science and Technology, Ministry of Education”, 1 “First Prize in Science and Technology, Guangdong Province”, 1 “Second Prize in Science and Technology, Guangdong Province”, 3 “Third Prize in Science and Technology, Guangdong Province”, 1 “Guangdong Province Agricultural Science and Technology Promotion Award”, received over 10 national invention patents and published over 50 theses on academic journals of all sorts.
